1st day : Arrival at Tunis Carthage Airport

- Transfer by bus at Mercure El Mechtel hotel 4*in Tunis.

2nd DAY: TUNIS /SOUKS/THE MUSEUM OF BARDO/CARTHAGE SIDI BOU SAID

Morning: 8. 00 departure for the visit of the museum of Bardo, located in an old palate of the Bey (Tunisian King) built in the XIXth Century.
The museum of Bardo is known universally for its large collection of mosaics. In this museum we discover the vestiges of greatest civilizations than knew Tunisia: Carthaginian Roman etc

After the museum visit , continuation towards the médina (known as Souks) coloured by the products of craftsman such as copper, leather, twool, carpets .
Departure to the northern suburbs of Tunis
Lunch in the Lido hotel , La Goulette.

In the afternoon, archaeological park of Carthage visit which was punic in turn, Roman vandal and Byzantine, continuation towards the village of Sidi Bou Said located on a hill, walk through the paved lanes bordered of white houses, punctuated of blue shutters and moucharabiehs (nettings made of glazing bar turned allowing to see without being seen) conceived in Arabo-Moslem architecture
Dinner and overnight at Hotel MERCURE EL MECHTEL Tunis or similar.
3rd DAY: TUNIS/CAP BON/HAMMAMET OR TUNIS 200 km

Morning, departure to the Cap Bon, it is a peninsula rich in orchards, orange groves, olive groves…it is the first citrus fruit producer in Tunisia.
Visit Nabeul its pattiers and nattiers. Continuation to Dar Chaabane village of stone cutters, visit of an artisanal workshop.
Continuation to Kelibia ,city dominated by a Byzantine Fort, it is the area of the grape muscatel from which we draws a dry and scents wine.
Lunch and continuation to Kerkouane: a remained intact phenician village. Visit of El Haouaria: famous for : its Roman careers which were used for construction of Carthage and by its festival of the sparrowhawk in June.

4th DAY: HAMMAMET OR TUNIS / KAIROUAN/GAFSA 340 km

Departure from Hammamet or Tunis to Kairouan : known by its mosques and its craft industry of carpet , famous in the world. Kairouan is founded in 671 by Okba Ibn Nafâa, propagator of Islam in Africa, Kairouan knew its golden age in IXth Century during the Aghlabides era and became a center of radiation in the Maghreb (North Africa). The city counts several religious monuments of which the large mosque Okba Ibn Nafaa, the mausoleum of the Barber companion of the prophet Mohammed.
The basin of Aghlabides is the large water tank of the town of Kairouan built in IXth century.

Afternoon, departure to Sbeïtla of its Berber name , Sufetula
The site of Sufetula presents a regular town planning where the rectilinear streets are cut to right angle and delimit reserved insulae for the dwellings.
We notice there a forum which shelters a formed capitole of three temples dedicated to the capitoline triad, Jupiter, Junon, and Minerve. In addition, the site counts a well preserved theatre, a thermal complex, temples, churches (we can observe there baptismal tanks of a great beauty), a beautiful triumphal arch dating from the reign of Dioclétien, and of Byzantine time forts... In addition, to shelter the many and beautiful objects exhumed by the diggers, Sbeitla obtained an original antiquities museum !
Continuation to Gafsa after a long road, the first palm trees appear… from old numid and Roman Capsa remains only two swimming pools…

5th DAY: GAFSA/TOZEUR/ ZAAFRAN 220 KM

Morning departure to Tozeur , city visit
Lunch in the hotel Ksar El Rouge or similar
Afternoon(optional)in 4x4 mountain oases visit of Chebika &Tamerza
Departure to Zaafran: Crossing desiccated salt lake (the chott El Djerid) with the great extents of salt creating a very seizing impression of mirage.
Visit oases and installation in the camping Méhari Zaafran
Overnight under tents dinner in the camping.
6th DAY: ZAAFRAN/DOUZ/MATMATA/ SFAX 300 KM

Morning optional walk on back of dromedary on the sand dunes of Zaafran or Douz. Continuation to Matmata, visit of the troglodytes Berber village

Afternoon continuation to Gabés and Sfax
Stop in Gabes maritime oasis, and continuation to the Commercial , industrial and agricultural quoted Sfax.
Sfax is the second economic city of Tunisia, it is the area of the olive-tree.

7 th DAY SFAX /DJEM/ PORT EL KANTAOUI/ TUNIS 280 KM

07. 30 Departure to Sousse via El Djem
Visit of the Roman Coliseum built in 230, dimension :148 m length ,122m large and 36m height with its 3500 spectators capacity .
This monument is the best preserved in the world.
Continuation to Sousse: , founded in IXth Century BC by Phénicians, the antic Hadrumete was during its history the point of fall of several conquerors: Romans, Vandals, Spanish, the latter set up the famous one extremely which shelters the souks of Sousse.
Visit Port El Kantaoui, a tourist integrated station with its Marina

8th DAY Breakfast in the hotel Mercury El Mechtel transfer to the Tunis-Carthage Airport
