2nd DAY: TUNIS IN BUS

Morning: 08. 00 departure for the visit of the museum of Bardo which is located in an old palate of the bey (Tunisian King ) built at the XIXthcentury.
The museum of Bardo is known universally for its large collection of mosaics. In this museum we discover the vestiges of greatest civilizations than knew Tunisia: Carthaginian Romans etc…
After the museum visit , continuation towards the médina (known as Souks) coloured by the products of craftsman such as copper, leather, the wool, carpets
Departure to the northern suburbs of Tunis
To lunch in  the Lido hotel  La Goulette.

Afternoon archaeological park of Carthage visit, which was punic in turn, Roman vandal and Byzantine, continuation towards the village of Sidi Bou Said located on a hill, walk through the paved lanes bordered of white houses, punctuated of blue shutters and moucharabiehs (nettings made of glazing bar turned allowing to see without being seen) conceived in Arabo-Moslem architecture

3rd DAY: TUNIS / KAIROUAN / SBEITLA / GAFSA  : 300 kms

Departure to Kairouan
Kairouan:  City of Tunisia known by its mosques and its craft industry of carpet ,  famous in the world. Kairouan is founded in 671 by Okba Ibn Nafâa, propagator of Islam in Africa, Kairouan knew its golden age in IXth Century at the  Aghlabides era  and became a center of radiation in the Maghreb (North Africa). The city counts several religious monuments of which the large mosque Okba Ibn Nafaa, the mausoleum of the Barber companion of the  prophet Mohammed.
The basin of Aghlabides is the large water tank of the town of Kairouan built in IXth century.

After noon departure to  Sbeïtla of its name Berber Sufetula
The site of Sufetula presents a regular town planning where the rectilinear streets are cut to right angle and delimit reserved insulae for the dwellings. We  notice there a forum which shelters in particular a formed capitole of three temples dedicated to the capitoline triad, Jupiter, Junon, and  Minerve. In addition, the site counts a theatre well preserved, a thermal complex, temples, churches (one sees there baptismal tanks of  a great  beauty), a beautiful triumphal arch dating from the reign of Dioclétien, of the forts of the Byzantine time... In addition, to shelter the many and beautiful objects exhumed by the diggers, Sbeitla obtained an original antiquities museum !
 Continuation to Gafsa after a long road, the first palm trees appear… old Capsa numide and Roman remains only two swimming pools…

4TH DAY: TOZEUR / CHEBIKA / TAMERZA / MIDES / NEFTA / TOZEUR :70kms

Departure to Douz crossing of the  Chatt El Djerid (large salt lake)
Continuation to Zaafran and Nouiel trotts on  back of dromedary,  optional continuation to Douz.

After noon  departure to  Ksar Ghilane crossing of the large rocky desert,  the great erg and to assist with  its  sunset  on the sand dunes

6TH DAY: KSAR GHILANE / KSAR HDADA / MATMATA / GABES / SFAX : 350kms

Morning possibility of even sunrise  on the sand dunes
Departure to Matmata via Ksar Haddada Berber village. After, continuation to Matmata known by its troglodyte constructions
Visit of a Berber dwelling
Lunch in a typical hotel Diar El Barbar 4*
Afternoon continuation to Gabés and Sfax
Stop in  Gabes maritime oases  and continuation to the  Commercial , industrial and  agricultural quoted Sfax.
Sfax is the second economic city of Tunisia, it is the area of the olive-tree.
Installation in  the Syphax hotel  Sfax 4* or similar,dinner and overnight

7TH DAY: SFAX / EL DJEM /SOUSSE / PORT EL KANTAOUI / TUNIS : 320kms

Departure to Sousse via El Djem
Visit of the Roman Coliseum built in year 230 after JC, dimension 148 m length and 122m broad and 36m height with 3500 spectators capacity .
This monument is preserved best at the world.
Continuation to Sousse: Sousse founded in IXth century before JC by Phénicians, the Hadrumète antique and which was during its history the point of fall of several conquerors: Romans, Vandals, Spanish, the latter set up the famous one extremely which shelters the souks of Sousse.
Visit Port El Kantaoui, tourist station integrated with its Marina
Lunch in   hotel Mouradi 4*
After noon, continuation to Tunis, Dinner and overnight in the hotel Mercure El Mechtel 4*

8TH DAY: Breakfast and transfer to the Tunis Carthage Airport   by  bus
