1st DAY: ARRIVAl AT TUNIS
  Transfer to the hotel Mercury El Mechtel 4*overnight and  breakfast

2nd DAY Morning visit of museum of Bardo:
Bardo is today one of the most important museums in the world. Its reputation is due to the quality and the variety of its archaeological parts, jewels resulting from a rich Tunisian history several millenia and civilizations.
Built in second half of the XIXth century, as palate became museum in 1882, baptized of this fact Alaoui museum - name of the sovereign, Ali Bey (1882-1902) -, its  knew a happy transgression of use made a high place of culture and civilization. In 1899, the authorities of the time associated asecond space to it, the small palate which now shelters the collections of Islamic art. From their architectural quality, these two palates are integral part of the national museum today.

Afternoon visit of Carthage , Founded in 814 BC. by Elissa-Didon and her Phenicians companions of Tyr.
Carthage was successively Phenician, Punic, Roman then Vandal and Byzantine. Of its long history of several centuries and rich and various civilizations, the ground kept multiple vestiges learnedly and patiently exhumed by engaged archaeologists within the framework of companies of research and excavations, programmed under the aegis of the Institut National du Patrimoine and UNESCO, since 1972. Today, the visitor can be astonished by the diversity and the beauty of the founded structures
Continuation to  Sidi Bou Said typical village located  on hills which overhangs, the Gulf of Tunis. Sidi Bou Said  is too  a high place of painters and poets.

3nd DAY : TUNIS DOUGGA /BULLA REGGIA /TABARKA  200 km 

7. 00 Departure from the hotel towards Dougga:
Dougga, of its ancient name Thugga, is far a hundred kilometers from Tunis; its vestiges of the antiquity reflect a history which carries especially the prints of Numid and Roman civilizations. One of the most important cities of the kingdom of Massinissa, Thugga entered under Roman dependence towards 46 B C., following the creation of the province of Africa Nova by Caesar. Consequently, and until 205 BC., date of its promotion to the statute of municipe, it counted two cores, one old, numide and other recent, Roman. Then after, entirely romanized, the city knew its apogee and obtained monuments worthy of its row of colony, obtained into 261. Then, although little affected by times crisis, Thugga ends up having problems before being strengthened at the Byzantine era, and to lose then, step by step, its radiation .

Afternoon departure towards Bulla Reggia
Royal city whose Orose said that it was the residence of Hiarbas, numid king of Ist C BC., Bulla Reggia entered under Roman domination only in 46 BC. following the creation of Africa Nova by Caesar. At the time, its rise and its integration were fast; municip probably under August, and the row of Colonia Ael Hadriana Augusta Bulla Reggia. In fact, this promotion, granted by the Emperor Hadrian, is explained by the excellent position of the city:
* located in the rich valley of Bagradas (Mejerda, principal river of Tunisia );
* located on the way Carthage- Hippo Regius.
Bulla Regia counts imposing ruins of which those of the thermal baths offered to it by Julia Memmia, girl of a former consul, originating of the city.

4th DAY: TABARKA/LE KEF/SBEITLA/ GAFSA  350 km

07. 00 departure to Sbeitla via Kef
Sbeitla is Situated at the limit of the dorsal and of the steppes of central Tunisia, Sufetula is one of the most beautiful ancient sites in Tunisia. Of Berber origin, as the toponym attests Sufetula climbs the levels of municipalization quickly, passing from municipe to colony, witness of its romanisation and its economic and cultural integration. With the advent of Christianity, it became the seat of one bishopric and, after the time of  Vandals, it was strengthened by the Byzantines who, in first half of VIIth Century, on the initiative of the secessionist Patrice Gregoire, became the Capital. In 647., the city fell under the Arab army of Abdallah Ibn Saad.
The site of Sufetula presents a regular town planning where the rectilinear streets are cut to right angle and delimit reserved insulae for the dwellings.
We  notice there a forum which shelters a formed capitole of three temples dedicated to the capitoline triad, Jupiter, Junon, and  Minerve. In addition, the site counts a well preserved theatre, a thermal complex, temples, churches (we can observe there baptismal tanks of  a great  beauty), a beautiful triumphal arch dating from the reign of Dioclétien, and of Byzantine time forts... In addition, to shelter the many and beautiful objects exhumed by the diggers, Sbeitla obtained an original antiquities museum !
 Continuation to Gafsa after a long road, the first palm trees appear… from old numid and Roman Capsa remains only two swimming pools

 5th DAY: GAFSA/TOZEUR  100 km

08. 00 departure to Tozeur
The capital of the “country of the palms ( Bled el Jerid), deserves its well.fame .
Initially for the higher quality of its dates (the déglet in-nour) whose it shares beside the production with the oases of Nefta, El-Oudiane and El-Hamma.
Then by its apparent solid brick architecture which draws on the frontages of pleasant geometrical reasons. Finally by the number of attractions which the visitor can meet there: a beautiful mosque in the district of Al-Hadhar ( ancient Thusuros) whose mihrab of pure Hispano-Maghrebian style built by Ibn Ghaniya,

6th DAY: TOZEUR/KAIROUAN  320 km

07 . 00 departure on Kairouan
Kairouan : known by its mosques and its craft industry of carpet ,  famous in the world. Kairouan is founded in 671 by Okba Ibn Nafâa, propagator of Islam in Africa, Kairouan knew its golden age in IXth Century during the  Aghlabides era  and became a center of radiation in the Maghreb (North Africa). The city counts several religious monuments of which the large mosque Okba Ibn Nafaa, the Mausoleum of the Barber companion of the  prophet Mohammed.
The basin of Aghlabides is the large water tank of the town of Kairouan built in IXth century.

7thDAY:KAIROUAN/ELDJEM/ SOUSSE /TUBURBO MAJUS /TUNIS  270 km

07. 00 Departure to El Djem
Simple village at the beginning of the Roman era, Thysdrus rose quickly with the row of a city with statute of municipe then of colony. It had its rise with its position of crossroad and the entrepreneurship of a rich middle-class that it managed to build a majestic amphitheatre and a not less imposing circus, as many monuments which testify at the same time to the opulence and the romanisation of this city of Byzacium.
The visitor can admire the splendour of the Roman amphitheatre still there, without doubt one of largest and of best preserved ancient monuments in the world.
Continuation to Sousse  , visit of the Christian tombs (Catacombs) from IInd to the IVth extending on 5 km and including 240 galleries and Sale stand.

Continuation to Tuburbo Majus:
Colonia Iulia Aurelia Commoda Thuburbo Maius. Colony under Convenient after having been municipe under Hadrian, Thuburbo Majus was an important city; today, from the importance of its ruins, it constitutes one of the most beautiful archeological sites of Tunisia. Punic then numid, Thuburbo Majus was municipe, then obtained the statute of colony in 188.
